Cody Ritt receives the Young Membrane Scientist Award

Cody Ritt and another person stand on a stage at the ICOM 2026 conference in San Antonio, Texas, smiling as one presents the other with a glass award. A tall illuminated sign beside them reads "Welcome! ICOM 2026, San Antonio, Texas," with the conference logo above. They are dressed in business attire against a black stage backdrop.

Assistant Professor Cody Ritt received the North American Membrane Society Young Membrane Scientist Award, one of the membrane science community's highest honors for early-career researchers.Ìý

Presented last week at the International Congress on Membranes and Membrane Processes (ICOM 2026), the award recognizes Ritt's contributions to membrane science and engineering. His research focuses on designing advanced polymer membranes that can more effectively separate nearly identical molecules and ions, with applications in water treatment, energy and chemical manufacturing.
