The Campus Controller’s Office and the Office of Space Optimization will be supporting the completion of a campus wide space survey in fiscal year 2027.Ìý

Why are we conducting a campus wide space survey?

• The last campus wide space survey was conducted in FY22 to support our FY22 F&A Base Year submission to DHHS-CAS.Ìý

• To fulfill a recommendation from our campus space survey working group to obtain up to date and meaningful space data that can be used for unit level decision makingÌý

• We need updated space data to prepare for our next F&A Base Year submission.Ìý

Who will be asked to complete the survey?

The Office of Space Optimization will be reaching out during the Fall 2026 semester to update and confirm the correct primary contact(s) for each unit.Ìý

Where do I find the survey?Ìý

The survey will be sent out in February 2027 and will be conducted as the FY22 survey was by utilizing the survey module in our . Emails will be sent out to contacts with direct links to the survey sections, and they will be available directly through the platform if you are identified as a space survey contact and updated as such in the system. SSO is used to access this platform.Ìý

How do I complete the survey?

• Links to the instructions, training materials and FAQs are available on the Facilities and Administrative (F&A) Indirect Costs Space Survey landing page. This will be updated in the coming months with information refreshes for the FY27 survey.ÌýÌý

• There will be the availability to update survey contacts and gain access to begin updating space data ahead of the survey being launched in Spring 2027. More communication will come on this, and you can reach out to spaceoptimization@colorado.edu to make contact updates and obtain instructions in the meantime.Ìý

Will training be provided?

The Campus Controller’s Office and the Office of Space Optimization will provide training, materials and website support to campus. We will announce the availability of these resources in the coming months as they are refreshed.ÌýÌý

What is the estimated timeline?Ìý

• December 2026: Space survey contacts will be finalized.Ìý

• February 2027: The survey opens for updatesÌý

• May 2027: The survey closesÌý
