We host free consultation hours every week at noon on Tuesdays during the fall and spring semesters to help you with your data-intensive research needs. Bring your questions and speak to our experts on methods and tools for research data management, digital humanities and qualitative data, geospatial data, or any aspect of the data life cycle. Consultations are open to all – from undergrad to faculty and beyond.

Join the Center for Research Data & Digital Scholarship on Tuesday, August 18th and Wednesday, August 19th for our Research Data Foundations Camp designed specifically with graduate students in mind (although all are welcome)! This is an in-person event. Space is limited.

As data-based research becomes a common practice, skills in data management, data analysis, and computational thinking are increasingly important for applied researchers. The Camp will provide a gentle introduction to data and programming-related research tools that will increase users' access to cutting-edge methods as they pursue their programs and research. Topics covered include reproducible research and data management; tools for collaboration and sharing (using GitHub and GitHub Pages); data analysis and visualization fundamentals in Python and R; and an overview of interdisciplinary data practices and ethics. No previous experience in coding or programming is required! Those who complete the optional assignments will be eligible to receive CU �鶹ӰԺ’s Research Data Foundations micro-credential.

This micro-credentialed course is for those who will be tackling��computing-,��memory-, or storage-intensive research problems that exceed the capacity of a laptop or desktop computer. It consists of a three day workshop and is intended to give attendees a hands-on introduction to high-performance computing (“supercomputing”) using CU �鶹ӰԺ’s Research Computing resources.����

Upon successfully completing the associated assignments, learners are issued a digital badge, allowing achievements to be displayed and shared. Just as diplomas serve to recognize degrees, digital badges are artifacts that offer recognition and storytelling about micro-credentials.��

Important: This course is open to members of the Rocky Mountain Advanced Computing Consortium (RMACC). Participants from CU �鶹ӰԺ��are required to��attend in person each day; RMACC members may attend in person or virtually. A Zoom link will be emailed upon registration.

New to CU Research Computing��(CURC), but��don't��know where to start? This Primer* training is designed to give you an overview of��CURC’s��resources,��procedures,��and best practices.��During this session,��you will learn about��High-Performance��Computing��(HPC)��systems,��the��resources available��on CURC’s HPC system��Alpine,��data storage options, and how to��access CURC resources.��By the end of the session, you will��have a solid foundation for exploring and learning to use Alpine through CURC’s��additional��training and documentation.����

* What is a��Primer?��A��Primer is a session that��provides an introduction to��concepts, systems, and tools.��You can expect to leave a Primer with an introductory-level understanding of the topic.
