Announcing the CU 麻豆影院 Outreach Awards and Fall 2023 Community Impact Grants
The Office for Outreach and Engagement is delighted to announce recipients for two grant cycles: 2023鈥24 CU 麻豆影院 Outreach Awards and Fall 2023 Community Impact Grants.聽
Programs granted CU 麻豆影院 Outreach Awards and Community Impact Grants extend faculty members鈥 research, teaching and creative work through mutually beneficial partnerships with communities across Colorado and beyond. The office supports public and community-engaged scholarship across all campus units, and funded proposals reflect that commitment. Funded projects represent only a portion of the outreach work involving CU 麻豆影院 faculty and staff members. According to the , more than 150 CU 麻豆影院 programs connect research, teaching and creative work with community needs.
Based on recommendations from the CU 麻豆影院 Outreach Awards Selection Committee, the Office of the Chancellor, Office of the Provost and the Division of Continuing Education are funding 29 projects receiving $474,000. The grants will support projects in the College of Arts and Sciences, School of Education, College of Engineering, College of Music, Colorado Law, Graduate School and Interdisciplinary and Faculty Group Awards. This funding will engage 1,026 CU 麻豆影院 students, 190 faculty and staff members, over 120,000 Coloradans and 646 people outside of Colorado.聽
鈥淏y doing community-engaged work, it uplifts and enhances the work for faculty members and students. It provides real-world experience,鈥 said Jeanne McDonald, associate director of the Office for Outreach and Engagement.聽
Eight projects are being awarded a total of $35,000 in the Fall 2023 competition for Community Impact Grants. The grants will support work in the Leeds School of Business, College of Music, School of Education, Division of Continuing Education, College of Engineering and Applied Sciences, College of Arts and Sciences and JILA. Many projects feature partnerships with K-12 schools to increase students鈥 access to arts, science and literacy education through direct engagement with students, capacity-building with teachers and school administrators and co-developing curricula. Overall, the projects will engage over 3,600 Colorado community members, 25 faculty and staff members, 93 graduate students and 44 undergraduate students.
