Global Issues Class Advisor
The Global Issues Class Advisor (CA) Fellow supports transformational leadership development by providing meaningful opportunities to the PLC community.
The Global CA Fellow works towards personal, professional, and leadership growth through research, planning, design, iteration, and implementation of the following activities:
- Creating continuity of instruction and supporting faculty and students by attending lecture twice a week (TTH).
- Encouraging accountability and academic excellence through peer supervision and feedback.
- Creating curriculum for in-class debates; ensuring respectful, rigorous dialogue, and critical conversations.
- Facilitate debates and other classroom activities.
- Creating and evaluating "On the Spot" questions.
- Developing and practice skills in constructive feedback in delivery of constructive critiques of presentations and papers to aid in learning and iteration.
- Providing additional academic support during weekly design hours (2 hours/week) or by appointment.
- Creating and maintaining a positive classroom atmosphere where students feel respected and supported
- Attend weekly FLEXD course meetings, attend Academic Team meetings, and meet weekly with Dr. Chris Coker to stay on track week-to-week.
FLEXD fellows must pursue excellence and personal improvement because we need innovative and ethical leaders who are going to create meaningful change.
(Scholarship = $2500/Semester)
