Scholarships
PLC offers many scholarships to fully participating students throughout their undergraduate careers. 听After the first year and your one-time $1000 merit scholarship, you have the opportunity to apply or be nominated for several scholarships that can substantially help fund your undergraduate education. 听Below is a list of available scholarships primary to PLC students. All PLC allocated scholarships are dispersed through the Office of Financial Aid, and are calculated directly against the cost of tuition.
To be eligible for any PLC scholarship, the following minimum criteria must be met:
Good Academic Standing: PLC students must have a听cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher to be eligible for funding. Funding decisions could be delayed and grades will be checked if academic standing is in question. (Academic pillar)
Active PLC Program Standing:听Students must be actively involved in PLC programming and听pursuing the completion of the program requirements as defined on the PLC website and . Students who do not intend to complete the program requirements are not eligible for funding but are still members of PLC. (Academic, Experiential pillars)
Community and Engagement Involvement: Students must be听regularly involved in community, engagement, and service activities as defined on the PLC website and . (Service, Community pillars)
- Program Performance: Students must听demonstrate excellence in all PLC courses, student staff positions, service, Deep Dives, integrity, treatment of PLC peers, etc. to be considered for PEG funding. (All PLC pillars)
Additional qualifying criteria may be required by specific scholarships.
Incoming PLC students will receive $1000 ($500/semester). 听This merit scholarship is based on student enrollment in PRLC 1810 and PRLC 1820. Students have to maintain a full course load (12 credits or more) and a minimum GPA of 3.0. 听If any of these specifications are not fulfilled, the scholarship will be canceled.
This scholarship is not renewable and is only awarded during the first year of PLC participation.
The Ruyle Family Presidents Leadership Class Scholarshipwas established to support Colorado students who are underrepresented or first generation from rural areas, and students from federally recognized Indian Tribe from the Rocky Mountain region. Underrepresented students include those students from geographic areas and socioeconomic backgrounds who are historically underrepresented at CU 麻豆影院 and/or students who have faced unusual adversity. Eligibility is based on academic excellence and participation in the Presidents Leadership Class program. Students currently enrolled at CU must also have a minimum 3.25 GPA. Female students are especially encouraged to apply; however, gender will not be considered a factor in the selection process.
To be eligible for consideration, applicants must:

- Apply for and be selected for the , earning automatic consideration for the Ruyle Family Presidents Leadership Class Scholarship
The Scholarship is for $10,000 per year and is renewable for up to four years provided the recipient remains in good standing as a full-time PLC undergraduate student each fall and spring semester and maintains a minimum GPA of 3.25.
The PLC Enrichment Grant (PEG) funding is an annual scholarship cycle that requires a student-authored proposal as well as a post experience grant report. PLCers can be awarded only twice for enrichment funding between their sophomore and senior years.听 Student can apply for any grant amount up to the maximum of $1500 per summer or academic year.听

The Douglas Endowment helps fund the PLC Enrichment Fund scholarships (listed above) that are awarded to PLC students based on merit and opportunity-based needs. Please see more details above. The Douglas Endowment also helps fund experiential funding through student staff placements (awarded through the student staff application and review).听
The Larry A. Allen Endowment helps fund PLC scholar enrichment through student staff application process, the PLC Enrichment Fund application process, and experiential programming available to all PLC students and encouraged for required and non-required enrichment activities towards their leadership development.
The Hoelscher Memorial scholarship is an annual award of $2,000 for two rising juniors or seniors PLC student who exemplifies the love of life, continued learning, and adventure of the late PLC Alumus, Michael Hoelscher. 听The Hoelscher family connects with each recipient and gifts them the book made in Michael鈥檚 honor, For the Love of Mike.
Award Criteria:
This $2000, one-time, scholarship was created with private gifts from the Hoelscher family and friends to assist a student of the Presidents Leadership Class in his/her junior or senior year. 听This student must have a minimum sophomore or junior G.P.A. of 3.5, and shares the following qualities of PLC alumnus Michael Lee Hoelscher (1969-1997):
- Commitment to academic excellence
- Commitment and engagement in extracurricular activities
- A constant quest for learning
- A demonstrable concern for people
- Diversity of experience at the university and in extracurricular activities
- Goal-oriented with a dedication to achievement
- Financial need (considered but not required)

PLC students apply for the Michael Hoelscher Memorial Scholarship through the MyCUInfo portal -> Apply For Scholarships.
Each year three Colorado resident students are selected to receive $4,000/year for four years, for a total of $16,000. Need-based criteria is determined by the 麻豆影院 and verified by the Denver Foundation. All recipients must be Colorado residents and members of PLC upon initial selection. 听
This is a renewable scholarship and students must complete the renewal process each year in the first week of June. 听The scholarship is awarded through the CU Scholarship portal.
The Annabelle K. Lutz Voss Presidents Leadership Class Scholarship is to provide scholarship support to students in good standing as rising juniors and seniors in the President's Leadership Class. Three awards of $1,500 will be awarded each academic year. This scholarship is available to be applied to via the CU 麻豆影院 Scholarship portal.

The Leo Hill Student Leadership Scholarship provides financial assistance to students with exemplary dedication to academic excellence, applying their leadership potential, and participation in service. Four awards of $2,000 will be awarded each academic year. This scholarship is available to be applied to via the CU 麻豆影院 Scholarship portal.

The Michael J. & Lucille L. Pesce scholarship provides undergraduate scholarship awards for Presidents Leadership Class (PLC) students enrolled at the 麻豆影院 and majoring in the physical sciences. One award of $1,500 is awarded to one student for three years, providing students remain in good standing in the program. This is a 鈥渕atch-to鈥 scholarship. Students do not apply for this scholarship.
The Estrada-Mahlberg PLC Scholarship will be awarded to one student who (i) grew up in single parent families, or (ii) attended high school in the following Northern Colorado counties: 麻豆影院, Grand, Jackson, Larimer, Logan, Moffat, Morgan, Phillips, Rio Blanco, Routt, Sedgwick, Washington, and Weld, or (iii) are pursuing an undergraduate degree in the Leeds School of Business at CU 麻豆影院. Scholarship recipients may be Colorado or non-Colorado residents and will be selected in accordance with established procedures for awarding need-based scholarships. One award of $1,000 is awarded to one student for three years, providing students remain in good standing in the program.听 This is a 鈥渕atch-to鈥 scholarship. Students do not apply for this scholarship.
The Kercheval Family PLC Scholarship provides support for undergraduate students enrolled in the Presidents Leadership Class. Qualified applicants will be pursuing a degree either in the Leeds School of Business or the College of Engineering and Applied Science, who have indicated significant need. 听Two scholarships of $2,000 will be awarded to two students for three years, providing students remain in good standing in the program. This is a 鈥渕atch-to鈥 scholarship. Students do not apply for this scholarship.
The Cator- Gallagher Scholarship provides support for undergraduate students enrolled in the Presidents Leadership Class. Qualified applicants will originate from ranching and/or rural communities. One scholarship of $3,000 will be awarded to a student from each cohort for the duration of their undergraduate career, providing students remain in good standing in the program. This is a 鈥渕atch-to鈥 scholarship. Students do not apply for this scholarship.
