Service Fellows
The Service Fellows support transformational leadership development by providing meaningful opportunities to the PLC community.
The Service Fellows work towards personal, professional, and leadership growth through research, planning, design, iteration, and implementation of the following activities:
- Establishing new relationships with nonprofits such as Â鶹ӰԺ County, SAME Cafe, and ENGin. to increase opportunity for students as well as increase PLC’s civic engagement in Â鶹ӰԺ and surrounding cities.
- Maintaining existing relationships with outside organizations such as PB n' Luvin and Garden to Table through annual service opportunities and professional communication.
- Enabling PLCers access to transformational service by designing opportunities that challenge personal stocks of knowledge, implicit biases, leadership paradigms, and social positionalities of students involved.
- Consistently reflecting, assessing, making sense of, and dreaming up new iterations of service events to ensure it remains a priority for the PLC community and is a transformational in nature.
- Facilitating service events for PLCers to earn their public service and engagement hours.
- Using creativity and ingenuity to create a robust verification system to accept service hours outside of PLC and PLC partners.
- Submit "Service Standout" entries to PLC Socials Fellow for the weekly PLC Connection.
- Provide notice of current and available service opportunities for all PLC students.
FLEXD fellows must pursue excellence and personal improvement because we need innovative and ethical leaders who are going to create meaningful change.
