Right Here, Right Now Global Climate Summit
In December 2022, the Â鶹ӰԺ hosted the inaugural Right Here, Right Now Global Climate Summit, a landmark gathering that brought together some of the world's foremost human rights, scientific, political, educational, cultural, and industry leaders to address the intersection of human rights and climate change, and to outline and commit to specific actions in response.
RASEI played a central role in making this inaugural summit a reality. Five RASEI Fellows served on the organizing committee, contributing more than a year of work to craft an engaging and informative program and bring together the partners and stakeholders that made the summit possible. A report authored by RASEI Fellows Chuck Kutscher and Jeff Logan, titled "Accelerating the US Clean Energy Transformation," was among the key contributions that attracted the United Nations to CU Â鶹ӰԺ as the host organization, a testament to the quality and relevance of RASEI's research and policy work.
The summit exemplified RASEI's commitment to extending the impact of clean energy research beyond the laboratory, by connecting scientific expertise with policy, human rights, and international collaboration to advance the transition to modern, clean energy systems.
