Staying or going: Spring break reminders

Spring break is just around the corner. Many campus services, including dining, bus transportation and residence hall front desk hours, will be reduced throughout spring break. Whether you live on or off campus, are staying in Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº or heading out of town, take a moment to review some reminders.

Before you leave

Leaving for the break? Here are some reminders and tips for students living on and off campus.

On-campus residentsÌý

All residence halls, including Bear Creek and Weber Hall, will remain open for any resident throughout spring break. Hall access doors will be locked and accessible by current residents only.ÌýÌý

Reminders:ÌýÌý

  • Make sure windows are closed and locked, and blinds are closed.Ìý
  • Unplug electrical appliances (residence hall students only).Ìý
  • Clean your micro-fridge and set it to low (residence hall students only).Ìý
  • Remove all food and perishable items from the room.Ìý
  • Set your heaters on low.Ìý
  • Remove trash and recycling from the building.Ìý
  • Turn off your lights.Ìý
  • Make sure your room door is completely closed and locked.Ìý
  • Remember to pack all important documents or valuable items such as plane tickets, ID and passport, jewelry, medicines, etc.Ìý
  • Store any bikes in your room during breaks if space is available, and it does not block exits. Ìý

Off-campus residents

Reminders:

  • Before you leave, check with your landlord or find someone willing to clear snow off your property. Snow must be removed from sidewalks within 24 hours of a snowfall.Ìý
  • Ask a friend to collect your mail and pick up newspapers and any trash in your yard. If you’re gone for a longer period of time, consider having the Post Office while you’re away.Ìý
  • Make sure all windows and doors are locked. Move expensive items such as laptops away from windows where they may be visible or bring them with you. Make sure your bike is securely locked or bring it inside if you can.Ìý
  • Set your lights on a timer and your heat to a reasonable temperature, about 60 degrees, to prevent pipes from freezing.Ìý
  • Don’t leave pets by themselves. Find someone to take care of them while you are away.Ìý

University closure

Campus will be closed on Friday, March 20, for a university holiday.ÌýÌý

Campus Dining & HospitalityÌý

On-campus dining options will be limited during spring break—view dining hours and closures.Ìý

Buff PantryÌý

The Buff Pantry will be open Monday, March 16, from 9 a.m. to noon and Tuesday, March 17, from noon to 3 p.m. The Buff Pantry is in C4C N161.Ìý

Getting around campusÌý

ÌýÌý Traveling to DIA

Did you know you can travel to the Denver International Airport (DIA) for free with your Buff OneCard? With one stop adjacent to CU Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº at 16th and Broadway, the SkyRide leaves hourly from Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº Station. Visit for more details.

Buff Bus: There will be no Will Vill Buff Bus service during spring break (Saturday, March 14, through Saturday, March 21) and no Stampede service on Friday, March 20, (campus closed). Regular Will Vill bus service will resume on Sunday, March 22.Ìý

Late-night service: There will be no late-night service on Thursday, March 19; Friday, March 20; or Saturday, March 21.Ìý

Buff Ride: Buff Ride will offer service from Monday, March 16, through Thursday, March 19. There will be no Buff Ride service on Friday, March 20. Regular service will resume on Monday, March 23.Ìý

CU NightRideÌý

will be open and operating this spring break to offer students a safe evening ride on campus and within Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº city limits. NightRide will be closed March 20–22, and spring service hours will resume on March 23.Ìý

University Memorial CenterÌý

The UMC and The Connection will have an adjusted schedule with limited hours and closures. Check out the UMC website for operational schedules. The Alienware Buffalo Esports and Gaming Lounge will also be open with limited hours over spring break.ÌýÌý

Rec CenterÌýÌý

Review special spring break hours for the main Student Recreation Center and Williams Village Rec Center.

Medical ServicesÌý

Wardenburg Health Center and the pharmacy will have adjusted hours over spring break.ÌýÌý

New: CU Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº Medical Services has partnered with TimelyCare to offer all students free access to after-hours telehealth medical support. This includes evening and weekend care and support if you’re traveling or out of state.ÌýÌý

Counseling & Psychiatric ServicesÌý

Review spring break clinic hours, plus after-hours, crisis and emergency care.ÌýÌý

New: CU Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº now offers free, flexible and confidential online counseling through BetterMynd, in addition to support at Counseling & Psychiatric Services.Ìý

Career Services

Career Services will offer limited virtual appointments March 16–19, and the photo booth will be available 8:15 a.m.–4:15 p.m. They will be closed Friday, March 20. Please check Buff Portal Advising for appointment times, or chat online to schedule an appointment.ÌýÌý

University Libraries

Norlin Library will be open March 16–18 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and closed March 19–22. Ask A Librarian services will be closed March 14–22. All other campus libraries will be closed March 14–22. will resume Monday, March 23.
