B2 Center for Media, Arts & Performance
B2 is a research and creative production center that incubates radical work in immersive, spatial, and time-based technologies. We exist to concentrate the space, tools, and expertise this work demands, and to put them within reach of artists and researchers from the University of Colorado and beyond.
Our Purpose
The B2 Center for Media, Arts & Performance occupies the lowest level of the Roser ATLAS Center: a two-story black box studio and a series of connected production labs. Part of the ATLAS Institute, B2 encourages experiments, collaborations, and productions that traverse disciplines to produce new knowledge and experiences. B2 is built around a community of designers, artists, researchers, and technicians who work alongside each other, sharing methods and expertise across diverse fields.

The spaces
B2 is a 2,700-square-foot, two-story black box studio surrounded by a series of connected production labs, a control room, and a community room, all networked end to end for video and audio.
Motion capture, 44-channel spatial audio, 270° projection mapping and intelligent lighting run through the Black Box and can be driven together in real time.Â
Work with us
B2 supports artists, researchers, students, industry partners, and cultural organizations through creative residencies, research collaborations, facility rentals and co-produced projects.
