Leeds School Research Initiative for Global Business and Citizen Wellbeing

听
In 2025, Leeds announced a $3.85 million investment to launch the Leeds School Research Initiative for Global Business and Citizen Well-Being. We support research on research on how business and government regulatory systems around the world contribute to solution of universal social problems around: a) consumer financial decision making, & b) sustainability.听
The premise of this initiative is that business 鈥 and government systems regulating business 鈥 can play a key role in solution to these social problems. Approaches are different around the world, and outcomes are different. As an example, countries around the world have very different systems around housing and mortgages and around , with very different outcomes. Countries have different initiatives to mitigate exposure to climate and environmental risks. What can we learn by comparing outcomes from the different approaches taken around the world?听
The initiative builds on our existing interdisciplinary strength of faculty in our Center for Research and Consumer Financial Decision Making and our Center for Ethics and Social Responsibility.听
