Please note: As of Fall 2026, the Center for Teaching & Learning is no longer a member of the Center for the Integration of Research, Teaching, and Learning (CIRTL) Network. This page is maintained as an archive for individuals seeking information about CIRTL. While the CTL no longer participates as a network member, many CIRTL resources, events, and professional development opportunities remain publicly available through the national CIRTL Network.

The Center for the Integration of Research, Teaching, and Learning (CIRTL) is a nationally recognized network dedicated to preparing future faculty and professionals through evidence based teaching and learning practices.

Why Join CIRTL?

CIRTL offers:

  • Training in integrating research, teaching, and learning.
  • Certification at three levels: Practitioners, Associates, and Scholars.
  • Skills to enhance your teaching practices and improve your CV for academic careers.

If you’re a graduate student or postdoctoral scholar planning an academic career, CIRTL can help you develop essential skills and competencies for success.


Getting Started:

  1. Please go to and register. The account is free and will offer many online courses, workshops, and seminars in the area of teaching and learning.
  2. Follow the CTL Events Page. This way you will know when we have events locally (in person or virtual).
  3. If you think you are going to pursue a certificate, we would really love for you to join our Canvas Community Page. This helps us keep track of interest in CIRTL and helps us track your progress toward certification. Additionally, attendance is tracked on our .Ìý
  4. Start participating in local and national cross-network events at ! These count towards our CIRTL certificates, so keep track of what you attend.
