Intra-university transfers

Students at the College of Music

Students may transfer into the College of Music from another CU 麻豆影院 college. Students interested in transferring to the College of Music (or adding music as a double major) must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or higher and must apply and audition to be accepted into the College of Music.听

Before beginning this process, students are encouraged to speak with their current advisor and to sign up for an introductory meeting with College of Music Director of Admissions + Recruitment Jalen Lee. Sign up for a meeting by clicking the 鈥淢eet with a Different Advisor鈥 tile in Buff Portal Advising or by emailing鈥undergraduate.music@colorado.edu.听

Application + audition deadlines

Application instructions and deadlines for IUTs depend on the semester in which you wish to begin your music degree.

Summer IUT (beginning听classes in the fall)

  • Dec. 1:听Priority deadline听to submit the听
    • Voice and musical theatre applicants must submit a pre-screening recording by Dec. 1. Composition, music production, and songwriting applicants must submit a portfolio by Dec. 1. Upload your pre-screening or portfolio within the Audition Request Form. Visit the鈥auditions page for more information.听
    • Other areas of study must submit the Audition Request Form by Feb. 1.听However, submission by Dec. 1 is highly encouraged for audition date selection.
  • Feb. 1: Final听听deadline (non-pre-screened programs)
    • Feb 15:听Deadline to complete audition
    • Feb. 15 through March 1 at 11:59 p.m. MT:Window to submit听

Spring IUT (beginning classes in the spring)

  • Sept. 15 through Oct. 1 at 11:59 p.m. MT:听Window to submit the听鈥
  • Oct. 1:听Deadline to submit both the听听and听the听
    • Voice and musical theatre applicants must submit a pre-screening recording by Oct. 1. Composition, music production and songwriting applicants must submit a portfolio by Oct. 1. Upload your pre-screening or portfolio within the Audition Request Form. Visit the鈥auditions鈥痯age for more information.听
  • Nov. 15: Final deadline to complete a live audition/interview with the College of Music

Note: Once you have applied, the College of Music will reach out to schedule your live audition to take place between Oct. 15-Nov. 15.
