The Sustainability Research Initiative (SRI) at the Â鶹ӰԺ was established in 2025 to harness the collective expertise of the university's diverse academic community and address pressing sustainability issues in Colorado and across the nation. CU Â鶹ӰԺ is uniquely positioned to be a sustainability research leader, with relevant expertise across many disciplines and a strong innovation pipeline.Ìý

In January 2026, the Sustainability Research Initiative is launching a research fellowship for CU Â鶹ӰԺ researchers from across academic units and disciplinary backgrounds to build community, practice futuristic thinking and coalesce into transdisciplinary teams to push sustainability research forward.
